Terms of Service — Ride Ready

1. About this service
Ride Ready is a vehicle and asset management tool. It helps you:
- Monitor the expiry dates of your MOT, road tax, and insurance
- Retrieve official vehicle data from the DVLA and DVSA
- Track your vehicle’s full service history
- Log ride and session data, including metrics imported from GPX files or recorded live using your device’s GPS
- Track performance settings such as tyre pressures, suspension, and gearing over time
- Plan and manage upcoming events such as track days, shows, and tours
- Manage other assets (bicycles, tools, and equipment) alongside your vehicles
This service is not a substitute for legal, regulatory, or insurance advice. The information displayed in the app is provided for your convenience only. You remain solely responsible for ensuring your vehicles are legally compliant, properly insured, and roadworthy at all times.
This service is operated by Christopher Bird, trading as BirdTech, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom.

2. Minimum age
You must be 16 years of age or older to create an account and use this service. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.
We do not knowingly provide this service to anyone under 16. If we become aware that an account has been created by someone under 16, we will delete it.
3. Your account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials (email address and password) secure and confidential.
- All activity that takes place under your account.
- Ensuring the information you enter is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@ride-ready.uk.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this service to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its servers.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
5. Data and privacy
We take your privacy seriously. We will never sell your personal data to third parties. Full details of how we collect, use, and protect your data are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Key commitments:
- Your data is used only to provide this service to you.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use analytics tracking software.
6. Account deletion and your data
You can delete your account at any time from the My Account screen within the app. Deleting your account will permanently and immediately remove all of your data from our systems, including all vehicle records, MOT history, service records, insurance policies, tasks, garage items, ride logs (including any GPS routes captured via live recording or GPX import), performance settings and logs, events, and your authentication credentials. This cannot be undone.

7. Subscription and payment
7.1 Free tier
A free account allows you to track one vehicle and one other item (such as a bicycle or piece of equipment) at no charge.
7.2 Pro subscription
A Pro subscription removes the vehicle and item limit and gives you access to all current and future Pro features. The current prices are:
- Monthly: £2.99 per month
- Annual: £24.99 per year
All prices include VAT where applicable.
7.3 Billing
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details; they are held by Stripe in accordance with their own terms of service and PCI DSS compliance obligations.
7.4 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the My Account screen within the app. On cancellation, your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for the remaining period.
7.5 Downgrading from Pro to Free
If, at the end of your Pro access, you have more than one vehicle and/or more than one other tracked item, you will be asked to choose one vehicle and one item to keep full access to. The vehicles and items you do not choose will become locked:
- They remain visible in your vehicle/item list, but you will not be able to view their details or add or edit any data for them (tasks, service records, ride logs, fluid records, odometer readings, MOT data, or performance settings).
- Their data is kept for 12 months from the date they are locked. If your account is still on the Free tier when this period ends, the locked vehicle/item and all of its associated data will be permanently deleted.
- You can restore full access at any time, either by re-subscribing to Pro (which unlocks everything immediately) or by deleting your currently active vehicle/item and choosing a previously locked one to take its place. Either action also clears the 12-month deletion countdown.
7.6 Refunds
If you believe you are entitled to a refund (for example, due to a billing error), please contact us at support@ride-ready.uk within 14 days of the charge. We will review each request on its merits in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
7.7 Price changes
We may change our subscription prices at any time. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase by email and by a notice within the app. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
8. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue the service at any time.
If we make material changes to these terms we will update the date at the top of this document. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Beta features
Some features of this service are released in an early beta state and are labelled as such within the app. Beta features are provided as-is, without warranty as to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for purpose. They may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly.
Live GPS ride recording is currently a beta feature. Distance, speed, and elevation figures are derived from your device’s GPS signal and may be inaccurate depending on device hardware, signal quality, and environmental conditions. These figures must not be relied upon for navigation, safety-critical purposes, or any legally or competitively consequential use.
The app requests access to your device’s location to use the Record feature. You may withdraw this permission at any time via your browser or device settings.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information displayed in the app.
- Any failure to renew a vehicle document by its expiry date.
- Any inaccuracy in GPS-derived metrics recorded by the live recording feature.
- Any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of the service.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
